We invite you to attend our Vision Connection session this spring, during which you can learn about several different adaptive sports organizations in the Bay Area.
- Achieve Tahoe - provides year-round outdoor recreation activities for people with cognitive, sensory, and physical disabilities.
- Chris Jeckel from Touching the Sky, a Documentary, follows a blind man as he rediscovers a sense of play through acro yoga.
- BORP (Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program) Adaptive Sports & Recreation – empowers individuals with mobility disabilities and visual impairments through adaptive athletic and outdoor programs.
- Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC) – opens the world of outdoor adventure to people with disabilities and youth from under-resourced backgrounds.
- ParaCliff Hangers – expands the rock climbing community to include people with disabilities.
- United in Stride - connects blind and low-vision individuals with guides for outdoor activities.
- Vista Center – offers several different health and adaptive fitness classes including chair exercise, tai chi, yoga, and community walks/hikes.
- Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors (BAADS) - offers weekly small boat and keelboat sailing, as well as racing, to people with disabilities and their friends and families. Based in South Beach Harbor in San Francisco.
