Foundation Fighting Blindness Clinical Consortium Mission
The Foundation Fighting Blindness Clinical Consortium is a not-for-profit alliance of retinal disease specialists and geneticists committed to accelerating development of efficacious treatments for inherited retinal diseases (IRDs). Possessing a deep understanding of IRDs and their genetic causes, the Foundation Clinical Consortium leverages its unsurpassed clinical, technical, and analytical expertise to advance rigorous clinical research, promote the creation of meaningful programs, and engender impactful collaboration in search of treatment breakthroughs for these diseases.
Our Work
Foundation Fighting Blindness Clinical Consortium comprises an extensive, international network of research sites providing wide-ranging ophthalmic expertise and access to well-characterized patient populations. Staffed by a robust multinational team of professionals certified in inherited retinal diseases (IRDs), ophthalmic genetics, retinal imaging, and biostatistics, the Foundation Clinical Consortium is available to design and conduct programs that address knowledge gaps, evaluate novel outcome measures, share study protocols and data sets, and present and/or disseminate findings.
With a standardized infrastructure and multidisciplinary approach to designing and conducting natural history studies in IRDs, the Foundation Fighting Blindness Clinical Consortium is also ready to inform and/or design clinical trial programs in partnership with industry. This innovative approach provides our partners with access to our experts’ clinical and technical experience, select clinical data, trial design expertise, research competencies, and our unparalleled ability to navigate the individual challenges associated with multinational regulatory scrutiny.
