The event will feature a Presentation on the Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses by Hugo Gallegos, an instructor at the Braille Institute. These glasses have built-in cameras, speakers, and microphones, allowing users to interact hands-free using voice commands.

Hugo will demonstrate the key features of glasses and how they can be useful for people who are blind or visually impaired.

As a blind individual, Hugo uses screen readers, iPhones, and other accessible technologies in his daily life. He has been at the Braille Institute for 11 years, starting as a volunteer assisting in the computer class. Through that experience and from informally sharing his tech knowledge with friends, he discovered a passion and talent for teaching.

Some of the features Hugo will cover include:
•    Using the “look and ask” feature.
•    Reading text out loud.
•    Descriptive mode.
•    Live AI assistance.
•    Making phone calls and messaging.
•    Playing music.

The chapter’s leadership team encourages you to forward this message to anyone you know who would be interested in attending this no-cost event. Additionally, nobody will be asked to donate or purchase anything to participate in this gathering.  We welcome you, your spouse, significant other, family, and friends to join the Foundation’s chapter community. The Foundation wants everyone to know that nobody is alone in the fight against blinding diseases.

If you have more questions, email Xavier at XGarcia@FightingBlindness.org.
