As CEO of an organization committed to those impacted by vision loss, it is disheartening there is still discrimination against visually impaired riders who use ride-sharing apps like Uber and Lyft.
The Foundation Fighting Blindness applauds The Washington Post for raising awareness about one of the many frustrating barriers people with vision loss, and other disabilities, face day-in and day-out. The irony that David Tatel, a federal judge, was refused car service for having a guide dog is not lost. We appreciate his courage in sharing his story and challenges so publicly.
