The Foundation Fighting Blindness invites you to an empowering Vision Connection event in Orlando designed to support and enrich the blind and low-vision community. 

What to Expect

  • Educational Presentations: Gain valuable insights from experts on topics critical to managing vision loss. This session will focus on maintaining quality of life, with discussions on mental health, low vision services, and the latest assistive technology.
  • Community Engagement & Fundraising: Be part of the change! Join the kick-off for the VisionWalks and help us raise funds to support the research and development of treatments and cures for blinding diseases.
  • Interactive Q&A: This is your chance to engage directly with our speakers, share your experiences, and connect with a supportive community.

Featured Speakers

  • Dr. Richardson: A local optometrist from Eyes of Winter Park. Dr. Richardson brings a wealth of knowledge with a BS in Biology from Norwich University and a Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University. His experience includes an externship at the Tianjin Eye Hospital in China.
  • Lea Gaffen Kessel, LCSW: A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Lea has a deep passion for helping others navigate the journey of vision loss. With a personal understanding of retinitis pigmentosa (RP), she specializes in helping individuals cope with the anxiety, depression, and life transitions that can accompany vision loss. Lea lives in Indian Harbour Beach, FL, with her guide dog Marston.
