Join the Foundation Fighting Blindness for our Orange County Vision Connection, a welcoming and inspiring gathering for the blind and low vision community.
This special event will also serve as the official kickoff for our 2026 Orange County VisionWalk happening this May, bringing our community together as we launch into a new season of impact.
Guests will hear presentations from a distinguished lineup of doctors from the UC Irvine Brunson Center for Translational Vision Research, highlighting groundbreaking work that is shaping the future of vision research.

- Kimberly Gokoffski, MD, PhD – “Enabling Whole Eye Transplantation with Electric Field Stimulation”
- Rui Chen, PhD – “Multipronged Strategies for Diagnosing and Treating Inherited Retinal Diseases”
- Dorota Skowronska-Krawczyk, PhD – “Targeting Lipid Metabolism to Prevent Age-Related Vision Loss”
- Elliot Choi, MD, PhD – “Precise Genome Integration of ABCA4 in Human and Mouse Models of Stargardt Disease”
The program will be followed by a hosted lunch and meaningful time to connect with fellow families, researchers, and community members.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in an optional guided tour of the CTVR labs immediately following the program.
