On Thursday, June 10, 2021, the Foundation Fighting Blindness hosted a fun evening of drinks and discussion with Ben Shaberman, senior director of scientific outreach, and Michelle Glaze, associate director of professional outreach, highlighting 21 promising research projects for 2021. Joey Joyce, a mixologist in Seattle, Washington, demonstrated a signature drink to enjoy during the presentation. Plus, guests heard about the latest details on the upcoming Spring National Virtual VisionWalk.
This virtual event features the U.S. Paralympics Nordic Skiing athletes Pearl Outlaw, Liza Corso, and Owen Cravens. Hear from our speakers how athletics have opened up a whole new world of opportunities. They share what tools have been helpful for them and their experience as professional athletes with vision loss.
The urgent mission of the Foundation Fighting Blindness is to drive the research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration, Usher syndrome and the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases.
